Scope of the work: Design a fluidic ground support equipment to perform vacuum condition and to fill and drain a telecom space module with two-phase ammonia refrigerant fluid.
Requirements were space-grade in terms of cleanliness and filling precision (pressure and mass flow rate).
Results: After a brief design sprint, a new hydraulic system was designed from scratch, starting from a list of technical requirements.
New draining method identified (push-pull) and implemented to preserve satellite electronics during draining phases.
